Titanium inner hexagon bolt

Made to order in Baoji, Shaanxi. Mill test certificate supplied with every batch.

Some fasteners collect myths faster than others. The titanium inner hexagon bolt is one of them. It's often described as too soft, too pricey or too hard to fit to be worth the trouble. In our experience, the opposite is usually true, provided the bolt is chosen and fitted the right way. Here are six common beliefs, and what actually happens in the workshop.

Titanium is too soft for a recessed drive

This is the most common worry, and it comes from mixing up titanium with aluminium. Titanium alloys are in the same strength class as many steels, at a fraction of the weight. A well-made recess handles normal tightening torque without any problem.

What does cause damage is a worn or badly sized key. A loose fit puts the force on the corners of the recess instead of the flats. Use a key that fits snugly, push it fully home, and titanium inner hexagon bolts tighten just as cleanly as steel ones. Most rounded-out recesses we see are caused by the tool, not the metal.

Countersunk heads are only for looks

A flush head does look tidy, but appearance is rarely the main reason engineers choose one. The real benefit is that nothing sticks out. A countersunk bolt sits level with the surface, so parts can slide past each other. Covers stay flat, and there's nothing for hands, cables or moving parts to catch on.

The cone-shaped underside also centres the bolt in its hole. That helps line up parts during assembly. In practice, a flush inner hexagon head often solves a fit problem, not a styling one.

They're impossible to remove after a few years

That's true of many steel bolts, especially outdoors. Rust forms in the thread and the recess, and the key no longer bites. Titanium doesn't rust. Its surface is protected by a thin oxide layer that repairs itself when scratched. Fitted with a little anti-seize, a bolt made of titanium can come out years later in the same condition it went in.

The anti-seize matters. Thread galling is the one quirk worth knowing about, and a thin film of compound takes care of it. It takes seconds and saves a lot of trouble.

They shake loose under vibration

Any bolt can loosen if it's under-tightened, and a titanium one is no exception. The fix is the same as for steel: tighten to the right torque and use a thread-locking compound where the joint vibrates. A countersunk head actually helps here. Its cone seat spreads the clamping force evenly around the hole, so the bolt sits firmly in place rather than rocking on a small contact area.

What titanium adds is stability over time. It doesn't corrode, so the clamping force isn't slowly eaten away by rust forming between the parts. A joint that's tight on day one stays tight much longer.

You can't get the size you need

Online catalogues often show a handful of common sizes and leave it there. If your length sits between two standard options, it can look as if you're out of luck. We work differently. Titanium inner hexagon bolts for sale from us are machined only after you order, so the length is cut to what you ask for.

The same goes for finish. You can choose a plain, polished or coloured finish, and the colour won't flake because it grows out of the surface. Unsure what size the old bolt was? Send a photo beside a measuring tape. Our team will work out the rest and confirm it before production starts.

Buying online means guessing where the parts come from

It often does, which is why we keep the process transparent. When you buy titanium inner hexagon bolts from us, they come from our own plant in Baoji, China. They're machined on our CNC lines and checked against your specification before packing. Every shipment includes a material certificate, so you know exactly which alloy you received.

Ordering titanium inner hexagon bolts online works by message, with no sign-up. Send the thread size, length, quantity and finish. A price and a ship date come back in return. Want to buy titanium inner hexagon bolt samples before a larger order? That's fine. A single titanium inner hexagon bolt online order for testing is priced by the same rules as a full batch.

So, is it worth it?

For most joints, yes. You get a flush, tidy head, a drive that reaches into tight spots and a bolt that won't rust in place. Every titanium inner hexagon bolt for sale here is made to your drawing, so the fit is right from the first try.

Send us your size and quantity, and our engineers will handle the rest.
